What is a WiFi extender?

A WiFi extender is a device that increases the range of a router into hard-to-reach places in a space, broadcasting the WiFi signal across a wider area than a standard router could usually manage. It utilises a wired connection to the router to draw a network connection, which it then broadcasts wirelessly throughout the building to increase the range of the WiFi signal.
