Keeping Schools Connected with RM Education
We’ve been working closely with RM Education to help schools stay connected with reliable, easy-to-deploy MikroTik networking. RM Education supports IT across hundreds of schools, so having a standard, resilient network setup that can be rolled out quickly is essential.
From full classroom environments to whole-school infrastructure, connectivity needs to be simple, consistent and dependable.
A Standard Backbone for Every School
As part of their nationwide rollout, RM Education selected the CCR2004-16G-2S+ as their standard backbone router.
Since February, this has included the deployment of 477 × CCR2004-16G-2S+ routers rolled out in a short, concentrated timeframe, acting as the core router in each school, supporting day-to-day classroom connectivity and wider network infrastructure.
Pre-Configured and Ready to Go
To make installations as smooth as possible, every router is pre-configured in-house before it ships, with a cut off of 7pm for next day delivery. Using RM Education’s MikroTik configuration platform, we prepare each unit so it arrives ready for immediate use.
We ship large volumes of hardware every day, which means this process is fast, consistent and reliable. For schools and engineers on site, it’s simply a case of plugging the router in and getting online.
Reliable Backup When It’s Needed
Alongside the main backbone routers, RM Education also uses the RB4011iGS+RM as a backup solution.
A total of 110 × RB4011iGS+RM routers have been used as temporary backup routers when schools experience complete WiFi outages or wider network issues. They provide a quick, effective way to restore connectivity while permanent fixes are put in place.
Built for Scale
This project shows how large-scale education networking doesn’t need to be complex. By using MikroTik alongside our in-house pre-configuration service and high-volume logistics, we’ve helped RM Education roll out a consistent, resilient network across hundreds of schools with minimal disruption.
