The Shelly 1L Gen3 is compact enough to be installed directly behind standard wall switches, and is compatible with a huge range of different lighting types - LED, CFL, incandescent, halogen, and luminescent lights can all be easily and wirelessly controlled by installing a 1L Gen3 behind the light switches fitting.

Similar to the rest of Shelly's retrofittable relay portfolio, the 1L Gen3 doesn't require specialised wiring or hubs to operate, and can connect over the standard WiFi already installed. Like the rest of the Gen3 series, the 1L Gen3 is also fully compatible with both Bluetooth and the Matter protocol for easy adoption into a wider Matter network involving devices from a range of other manufacturers. Unlike Shelly's other smart relays in their portfolio such as the Shelly 1PM Mini, the 1L Gen3 is designed specifically for lighting circuits with live-only wiring, and can be installed in no-neutral circuits.

In addition to being able to control your lighting remotely via the app and configure the 1L Gen3 through the embedded web interface, this relay can also be integrated into wider scenes and schedules involving multiple Shelly devices, such as raising or lowering the brightness based on the time of day, or based on feedback from a light sensor like the Door/Window Sensor.
