Description
The MikroTik hAP ax S is an exceptionally cost-effective Wi-Fi 6 access point designed for home setups and small offices. Powered by a dual-core 950 MHz ARM CPU and 512 MB of DDR3 RAM, this compact device delivers robust performance and stable connectivity. It features a triple-chain 5 GHz wireless radio capable of reaching real-world throughputs of 800–900 Mbit/s, making it ideal for smooth streaming, fast downloads, and low-latency VR applications.
Wired connectivity is highly versatile, featuring five Gigabit Ethernet ports alongside a 2.5G-capable SFP port for direct fibre-to-the-home connections or high-speed NAS links. A USB 2.0 port is also included for additional storage or peripheral expansion. The unit supports dual powering options via a standard DC jack or passive PoE-in, and includes a passive PoE-out port on Ether5 to power secondary devices like switches or additional access points.
Running the full version of RouterOS v7 with a Level 4 license, the hAP ax S provides complete network control with no hidden subscriptions or paywalls. Users can easily configure advanced features such as VLANs, firewalls, VPN tunnels, traffic shaping, and IoT network isolation to ensure maximum security and customisation.
