DrayTek's V3912S router is an enterprise-grade high-performance VPN router, engineered to meet the needs of complex, high-traffic networks. Featuring a maximum NAT throughput of 12.5 Gbps and support for up to 500 simultaneous VPN links, the V3912S offers tight security and high throughput for connected devices. Also included in this model is an embedded 256GB SSD and 8GB DDR4 RAM, granting support for Linux applications to be installed on the network via docker.

Description

The DrayTek Vigor V3912S can provide a firewall throughput of 12.5Gbps through its 8 x WAN/LAN switchable ports and 4 x fixed LAN ports, as well as featuring 2 x 2.5GbE and 2 x 10GbE SFP+ ports for extremely high-speed fibre uplinks. In addition to the superfast firewall throughput, the V3912S promises up to 5Gbps IPSec VPN throughput for up to 500 simultaneously-run VPN uplinks. For increased security and ease of administration throughout the network, the V3912S can support the creation of up to 100 tag or port-based VLANs, each fully configurable or NAT or Routing, and throughput is further optimised through the switch's flexible WAN architecture, spreading the bandwidth load across up to 8 WAN links with load balancing for evenly-distributed network traffic.

The V3912S also expands upon the capabilities of the previously released V3912 by including an embedded SSD and 8GB RAM, facilitating Linux applications to be installed and run on the network via any compatible docker-based application like Suricata and VigorConnect. As a result of these hardware upgrades, in addition to the powerful quad-core processor installed in all V3912 routers, applications such as web server and additional containers can be run simultaneously. The newly embedded SSDS also grants the possibility for enhanced security by virtue of the optionally-installed Suricata Intrusion Detection System, an open-source IDS system with over 60,000 rules that can instantly identify threats such as malware, network intrusions, DoS attacks and data breaches and alert the network administrator.

Just like the rest of DrayTek's portfolio, the V3912S is fully compatible with DrayTek's centralised management platform, VigorACS, offering provisioning, monitoring and management over the networking ecosystem remotely without requiring on-site IT. The V3912S can, in turn, manage up to 50 connected DrayTek VigorAP access points and VigorSwitch network switches, providing complete oversight over any DrayTek devices on the network.
